Ignorance is Bliss
The Dirty Secret
When asked why? Many people reply: “well I maintain a plant based diet for my health, for the environment and/or for the well-being of all animals.” Apparently Veganuary is a “thing.” I like things with a purpose, especially when that purpose combines annoying people with facts for a good cause. This month let’s highlight reasons to jump into a plant based diet.
One reason that encompasses all three goals alone can justify the leap to a plant based diet and that is the Beyond Burger. Delicious & Nutritious packed with more protein than the cow flesh burger. A lot of people wonder how vegans get their protein and the simple reply is a good old fashioned burger with a Beyond Beef patty (or similar patty such as the Impossible Burger, a patty that comes in at a whopping 27 grams of protein per serving). The proof is in the pictures; tastes great, better for the environment, better for the consumer’s cardiovascular system, and doesn’t require the enslavement & torture of an entire species. You can find wonderful recipes and where to locate this burger on the Beyond Meat webpage. For starters I would recommend heading over to J. Selby’s for their Dirty Secret (pictured below) – Two Beyond Burger patties with a special sauce, & a SoyClone to boot.
If you are yet able to eat a cow flesh burger, you should be able to stomach videos such as the following on a regular basis. https://www.kinderworld.org/…/meat-industry/cow-slaughter/
Labor Day
Music whilst reading about and enjoying your Labor Day! https://play.spotify.com/user/usdeptoflabor/playlist/4GL4LFTTcsHXSrfwKXD2ZV
Today is Labor Day. We honor the labor movement and especially thank our unions and their members for the battles they have fought to ensure we have a livable wage, decent standard of living, a safe work environment, among a multitude of other progressive values. Happy Labor Day!
Ah who am I kidding, myself and millions of others around this country are working on a day that is meant to appreciate labor-the middle and working class. It’s amazing the hack job that is being done on unions and the progressive labor movement in general the past few decades. People are working longer hours for lower wages, working a few jobs, working weekends, working holidays, basically slaving away to the machine to meet their daily needs. Without the strong presence of unions, the wealthy elites invoke illegal laws and partake in inhumane practices such as taking away holiday pay, not paying overtime, penalties for joining unions, cutting safety measures, threatening employees, illegally dumping hazardous material, polluting our air, water, environment, killing wildlife and biodiversity. Find out many more of the human rights, worker rights, and environmental violations at laborrights.org.
The proof is in the pudding, and you’ll find some pudding below, I encourage you to checkout each link for more articles, graphs, and intellectual thought.

See the correlation? Union membership goes up, wealthy elites take a pay cut. Union membership goes down, wealthy elites get more of the pie.

Now you may be wondering how did all of this happen? Much is to blame. Big factors are the hack job being done on unions and labor, deregulation, tax evasion, subsidies, bad trade deals, and that America is an oligarchic capitalistic country with a broken democracy that favors the Military Industrial Complex, the fossil fuel industry, and short term gains over long term sustainable progress.
But what can we do?
More to come, will finish after, I seriously need to go to bed, and then get to my job, because we can’t all live off of government cheese and corporate bailouts.
As promised here is some pudding.

Sorry that’s the Healthy Butterscotch Mousse Pudding (high protein, vegan) for the 1%ers.

Here’s the sugary, fattening, 2% of the hourly minimum wage snack for the poor blokes.
Endangered Species – Grey Wolf
Our current ecosystems rely on every animal to participate. We cannot continue to extinct animals for our short term benefit and profits or we will all fail in the near term and especially long term. This video highlights the importance of that. Grey Wolf impact in yellowstone Humans as a population are overpopulated and encroaching on habitats and destroying the environments around us. What we need to do is learn to live with, and help our natural environments prosper, so we too can prosper. A very interesting article I recently stumbled upon shows the intellectual capacity of Wolves. Wolves are used to treat PTSD in veterans

Earth Day 2015
2015 – Earth Day’s 45th anniversary – could be the most exciting year in environmental history. The year in which economic growth and sustainability join hands. The year in which world leaders finally pass a binding climate change treaty. The year in which citizens and organizations divest from fossil fuels and put their money into renewable energy solutions. These are tough issues but we know what’s at stake is the future of our planet and the survival of life on earth. On Earth Day we need you to take a stand so that together, we can show the world a new direction. It’s our turn to lead. So our world leaders can follow by example.
In 2015, let’s redefine what progress looks like. It’s Our Turn to Lead.
